Obituary for Barbara Harriet Perry (Cox)
It is with great sorrow that our family shares the passing of our beloved matriarch, Barbara Harriet Perry on February 17, 2022. Our Mom had recently celebrated her 93rd birthday with family. She is survived by her five children, Peggy (Jay) Prill, Rosemary Perry, Bruce (Shelley) Perry, Adrienne (Andrew) Ashford, Helen (Tito) Perry-Solis, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren as well as 3 nieces and 2 nephews. Barb was born in Fernie, BC on February 3, 1929 and settled in Qualicum Beach permanently in 1986.
Her happy place was surrounded by family and friends at or near her home in Qualicum Beach. Barb loved beach walks and swimming in the ocean during the warmer months.She especially appreciated the arts and she spent many hours volunteering at The Old Schoolhouse Art Gallery, the Agg Works Studio in Qualicum, and at the Lighthouse Community Fall Fair. Barb was a very talented artist and seamstress herself.
Barb will be missed by all who knew her. We would like to thank the VIHA care workers and nurses that helped care for our Mom during the last years of her life.
A Celebration of Life for friends and family will follow in the summer. In lieu of flowers, please follow Barb’s generosity by donating to a charity of your choice.
