Obituary for Cory David Johnson
Cory was born in Duncan BC on May 22,1980.
He is the 2nd child and only son of David Z Johnson & Janet L (Lightburn) Johnson.
Cory grew up in Nanaimo. He enjoyed mountain biking, driving vehicles and an ATV on 4x4 trails around the central Island area. He also enjoyed camping with his friends at Shuswap Lake.
Cory had many different jobs from delivering for Pizza Hut & Canadian Springs Water to learning about roofs from Ram Roofing. As well as learning more about car parts through Lordco. His favourite job was being a tow trucker driver for HB Towing. The last 10 years Cory faced the challenges life brought him that came from being in a wheelchair with grace, fearlessness and introspection. His battle with a tumour that recently changed from benign to malignant earlier last year ended on July 17,2022 in Nanaimo BC.
Cory has been predeceased by both his Johnson & Lightburn grandparents. As well as aunts, uncles, cousins, his mother in law Deborah L Gaspari, brother in law Jeremy P Gaspari and many cherished friends.
Those left saddened by his passing are parents David & Janet Johnson, sister Sara A Johnson, Wife Melissa D Johnson, and son Brodie D Johnson. And extended family and numerous friends.
