Obituary for June Annie Richardson (Lundberg)

Mom left us on November 6 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer disease. June was predeceased by her parents, Joe and Boya; her brother Carl (aka Uncle Bun), her sister Ruth, her brother-in-law Hank, our Dad Keith and our brother Gordie. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter Lori (Brad), her sons Wayne (Karen) and Gary; along with her grandchildren Erin, Lee, Melissa, Nicole and Amanda; her great-grandchildren Autumn, Maxwell, Linden, Mila, James, Savanna and Saige; her nieces Gail and Linda, her nephews Bert and Dan, her sister-in-law Edie, as well as many longtime good friends.

June was born in Bella Bella on February 16, 1934. A true west coast woman, June grew up by the sea and she lived in homes from Sidney to Ocean Falls to Namu; aboard Grandpa Joes' fishing boat and even in a tent. Mom and Dad raised us in Surrey and Port Kells, then they went to Kelowna, then Langley and retired in Parksville. Our Mom enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and hunting; she was once an avid curler, golfer and lawn bowler too. In her later years she enjoyed many outdoor activities in Prince George, including ATV rides. While June was living in Victoria she loved to go for seaside drives, quietly watching and remembering the days gone by. She surprised us with a real talent for painting when she lived at the Veterans Memorial Lodge at Broadmead; she was in the art room five days a week producing many masterpieces for her family to admire. Mom enjoyed reading, sports on tv, crosswords and jigsaw puzzles. She especially loved looking at photos of her extended family and never forgot any of their names. She was the best Mom, we will miss her terribly. We know she is safe in the arms of Dad and Gordie and as Erin said “Together Again”.

There will be no service as per Moms' request, in lieu of flowers donations to The Alzheimer Society of British Columbia or the healthcare charity of your choice are appreciated.
