January 5, 1947 - May 15, 2020
Lolly or Lollypop was 72 years old when she passed peacefully at Victoria General Hospital. Lorrain passed after a long history of many physical challenges. She was a brave woman with a strong will to live and love fully. Lorrain was born in Westlock Alberta, January 5, 1947. She had a twin brother who she had not seen since birth. Lorrain had one older sister. She spoke of many stories of her childhood.
Lorrain was separated from family and continued to live her life with supports due to her unique needs. One of her caregivers brought Lorrain to B.C. in the late 90’s and that is how Lorrain was introduced to our family. Lorrain was supported in BC with much love by many people in her helping circle. She was able to flourish, meet many new people and travel all over.
Lorrain was very fond of small dogs and they naturally rested on her chest where she was content to give a pat. She was sweet and gentle. Lorrain loved to be included, she loved socializing and spending time with the people she loved. She loved MyChosen Cafe, a favourite destination. She also loved Esquimalt Lagoon, drives by Dallas Rd and visiting her long time friend, Mexi.
Lorrain leaves her caregivers Robert and Janette, 4 housemates, Doreen, Daryl, Peter, Michelle, plus Amy, Aunt Mary and many people who have met and had the honour to know her. Thank you to Integra Support Services, VGH staff and their gracious care.
Thank you also to Provincial Respiratory Outreach Program (PROP) for providing at No cost the BiPAP machine that allowed Lorrain to live 6 more mostly healthy wonderful years. You guys are amazing.
Any donations anyone wishes to make in Lorrain’s name could go to PROP, or any respiratory charity.
