Obituary for Marianne Gerda Schneider (Krenzel)
Our Mom Marianne Schneider, of Victoria, BC, passed away on Tuesday May 2, 2023 at the age of 93 after a 3.5 year battle with dementia.
She was born in Germany in 1929, immigrated to Canada in 1956 with her husband Kurt & oldest daughter Monika & settled in Calgary for 12 years. In 1968 our family of five moved to Victoria, BC to get away from the cold, blustery winters only to experience the Big Snow of '68' that winter & don't you know, we had left our snow shovels in Calgary.
Victoria provided years of outings & adventures for our family & for which we all have fond memories of.
Mom will forever be remembered not only for her beautiful blue eyes, but for her kind, bright & cheery demeanor, as a great cook & baker, the hostess with the mostest, a good friend, a great gardener & volunteer @ VGH & still she found time for her many hobbies.
She was a loving & devoted wife to Kurt, loving mother to her daughters; Monika, Susan & Janine & wonderful grandmother to Chelsea & will be dearly missed each & every day.'
