Obituary for Paul Everard Welch
On Monday evening, January 16 2023, Paul Everard Welch, wonderful husband to Ingrid, ever-loving father to Cassandra and cherished younger brother to Pat, passed away too soon in hospital after a very brief episode of IPF.
Paul was born in Bournemouth UK and went to the University of Chichester in West Sussex. He started his teaching and bookkeeping career in England, continued teaching at various schools in Zimbabwe Africa and concluded his teaching in BC Canada. Paul still actively maintained his own bookkeeping business with his wife on Vancouver Island.
Paul was a very private, quiet and compassionate soul who cherished moments with those close to him. He was particularly fond of English Football, sunset game drives in the savanna and fishing on a quiet secluded lake or river. He loved soft rock/blues music and live rock concerts and collected many LP’s, CD’s and blue-ray discs in his lifetime. Paul bought interesting art pieces and specific book collections based on his unique eclectic interests. He was always very house proud and tidy making a lovely home wherever he roamed. He embraced personal freedom living life on his own terms even unto the end.
Paul is survived by his wife Ingrid in Canada, his daughter Cassandra (and fiancé Andy) in New Zealand, his older sister Pat in England and extended family & friends worldwide.
Paul chose to leave quietly and with dignity. May each of you find your own unique way to celebrate his memorable life!
