Obituary

Obituary for Shane William Curry

June 22, 1970 - February 7, 2021

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle & loyal friend Shane Curry. Shane passed away suddenly at home in Victoria, BC. He will be missed forever by his mother, Dianne Curry of Nanaimo, BC: his father, Peter Curry of Winnipeg, MN; his brother Ira Alperovitz of Victoria, BC; his sister, Amber Lamoureux of Vancouver, BC. Shane also leaves behind his brothers Colin and Kevin and his sister Jo who came into his life as adults along with his much loved little sisters Jill and Paige. They are grateful for the time they had to know and love him. Shane was born June 22, 1970 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. His mother's first born. He was a loving, kind and gentle child who had such wit and charm. All his aunties adored him.

Shane had a brilliant mind, incredible memory and scholastically was unstoppable. By 8th grade his teacher felt at times that Shane should be teaching the class and she should just be listening. He was gifted. Shane spent several years in the paint industry, following for a time in his father's footsteps. He tried many professions in his life but in fact university was where he was meant to be. Shane overcame many hurdles in his life. These last years saw him achieve his lifetime goal of returning to university and would have graduated in 2021. If desired a tree can be planted in Shane's memory.

Rest in Peace. Love never dies.

Shanie-bum,
You were the first Baby I ever fell in love with. I used to pretend you were my baby, and that your Mom’s apartment was mine. I will always remember you dancing as a toddler to the Old Dutch Potato Chip commercials.
Your precious smile made us all happy.
Your intelligence and kindness was awe inspiring.
I wish you God speed and hope you are with your Macka
now.
Until we meet again...I love you.
Auntie Donna
