Stephen Ellsworth Browning of Victoria, B.C. passed away on June 1st, 2023 at the age of 76. Stephen was born to Jim and June Browning on December 25, 1946 in Vancouver, B.C. He studied steam engineering at the University of Calgary and started his own company, Dominion Building Maintenance, in 2004. Stephen had many passions - he was an ardent poet having produced three volumes of poetry - he aspired to contribute to his community through volunteerism and ran as an Independent in Calgary during the federal election in 1974.

Affectionately known by his friends as the ‘Hawk,’ he was beloved by many. Most importantly, Stephen was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who inspired his family in all respects. He oft referred to angels and old pilots in his poetry, and we take solace knowing he is now amongst them.

Stephen is preceded by his brother, John. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Linda, and three sons - Nathaniel, Matthew, and Adam. He is also survived by his brother, Lincoln, and his grandchildren - Forrest, Roxeanne, Michael, Tessa, Brooklyn, Faith, Joshy, and great grandchild, Miles.

There is a small service for immediate family members only, and a celebration of life will be held on December 25, 2023.
