Obituary for William Falconer

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Falconer on Saturday April 16th, 2022.
Bill passed away peacefully in his sleep at home with his beloved wife of 56 years, Elizabeth (Fid) by his side.
Bill was a devoted family man and his two daughters, Kristi and Colleen were the love of his life and both cared for him over this past year when his health was failing.
After being surrounded by females for so many years, he was ecstatic when he ended up with 3 grandsons, Jamie and Stirling Pritchard (Colleen's) and Kylen Falconer (Kristi's).
He was always a fierce fan from the basketball courts with Kristi and Colleen to the soccer fields, BMX track and ball hockey arenas for Jamie, Stirling and Kylen.

Bill, the youngest of 8, was born in Dundee Scotland on March 16, 1943.
He was raised in Carnoustie and spent every waking moment at the golf course.
He is survived by his sister Alma Gourlay in Scotland and many nieces and nephews in Scotland, England, Florida and Ontario and one brother-in-law Ewen Cameron in Toronto.
In 1965, just 3 weeks after getting married, Bill and Fid started their journey and immigrated to Canada where they raised Kristi and Colleen.

Upon arriving in Victoria, Bill worked at the Uplands Golf Course and the Royal Victoria Golf Club for many years before moving up to UVic where he worked in the Grounds department until his retirement.
He was a member of the Elks Soccer Club, Sons of Scotland and was known by many at the Cook Street Senior's Activity Centre where he and Fid spent many a day participating in Whist, Euchre and movie days.
All who knew him would describe him as a gentle, kind, loyal, and loving soul.
He will be sorely missed.

A huge thank you to Dr. Andreas Miller, Dr Phang, the Palliative Care team and home support for their great care.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 15th from 11am-1pm at Juan de Fuca Clubhouse across from the Q Center. Bring your stories and memories to share.
